I am running around crazy like a chicken with my head cut off. It's starting to get warmer out and I love it, but I just don't have enough time to "play". I am working on CJ swaps. I just finished the recipe one and have to get that sent off. Now I am going to be working on an "all about me" swap and a favorite picture swap. Oh, and the best thing.......I applied for a design team. I would love to make the cut! Let me tell you if I could get rich, (well at least pay the bills and have a little extra) by scrapping and taking my photography skills.....I would be a HAPPY camper.
This past weekend I went to Mania at Archivers, I worked on the final touches of the recipe swap, I got plenty of ideas for the about me swap, and I helped my friend Mel work on her dad's Army book. Man that thing is going to be COOL! The beginning is about her grandfather and his years in the war and the end is her dad's time of service, awards, etc. She has this project and her Hollywood trip project all going at the same time. Talk about two completely different themes!
I have lots of pictures of stuff that I have been doing......if I get a moment soon, I will post them. And, I will let you know how the design team goes! Keep your fingers crossed!

Scrapping life's MAJOR moments
Let me introduce myself...........my name is Kristin. I am a 27 year old step mom to three AMAZING kids. Well, I will be as soon as my fiancee and I get married! I am originally from Iowa and I now live in the Cleveland, OH area. I went to college for Graphic/Commercial Art, but I am working as an Accounting/Administrative Assistant. Maybe the art background is why I love to scrap! I am creating this blog so that my friends and family who are far away can hear about my life and see my everyday creations. As you can see on my slide show I have posted my most prized "project".
This past spring...2006...I could see that my brother and his girlfriend were headed towards an endless future together. I told my brother about a page I had seen in one of my FAVORITE scrapping magazines. A guy had sent in pictures and LB had created a page for his gf to see as she was reading the issue. It was a "will you marry me" page. What an amazing idea! So, as he pondered this idea, I began to plan out pages. Yes, without permission I was drafting pages. Then one day my brother called and said, "yeah I like that idea, can we do a whole book?" Heck yeah we can!
I went home in May for his graduation and to meet his girlfriend in person for the first time. I had a few pages done thanks to my mom's cooperation and pictures. I took so many pictures of them together while I was home. I put up with his whining, because even though I love to scrap, I don't have many family members willing to pose for the camera! I had to get the pictures that I took from graduation processed before we had his party later the same afternoon. As I was driving home from the store I was looking at the pictures planning out what I would be doing with them. And, after the party.........I flew back to Cleveland and got to work!
I knew once I got the pages from Graduation finished I needed more pictures. I asked my mom to take some for me but she wasn't able to get cooperation. So, in August, my fiancee and I drove 14 hours home to take some pictures.....and a vacation. But, at this pointmy excitement was getting the best of me and I wanted the "perfect" pictures, so I guess that is why I really went home! I came home once again and went straight to the store to get the film processed. There was NO waiting for these I took them in the day we got back and got them an hour later. I HAD to see the pictures.
I began once again to get to work on the new pictures. Everyone at the scrapbook store knew what I was working on and thought it was the most amazing project! I couldn't be more proud. And, it was a great feeling to walk in and people come up to you and say could I see where you're at with it now. In September, I was told no hurry then in mid September, he had changed his mind.........the first of October! So, after hours and hours and lots of dinero, I completed THE book. I loved it and I couldn't wait to ship it home so he could see it. My mom called me when she got it, her and my dad cried! That's the effect I was wanting! So, then I sat on pins and needles waiting for him to propose. Finally on December 15th, he did it! And, my friends.........she LOVED it. She said that my brother said all the right things but because she was so shocked she just sat in the limo crying so hard she couldn't breathe. And, if she couldn't breathe..........she couldn't hear! Stay tuned for more updates. And, I would LOVE to hear what you think. And, scrappers................if you know of any contests for scrapbook pages.......inform me!
